The importance of water is evident from the fact that without water we cannot survive for long. Our bodies are made up of approximately 60-65 % of water. Muscle is made up of 70 % water, while fat is only 22 %. Water is responsible for transporting the necessary nutrients to our body’s cellular level and transporting the waste out. This is why water is important to us.
Drinking at least one and a half liters of plain water every day enables you to flush toxins from our body, keep our skin healthy making us feel energized and for the better regulation of our body temperature and burning more fat.
The daily intake of water depends on our physical activity level. The more active we are the more water our body will need. Water can be taken from a variety of sources like fruits, fruit juice, tea, soft drinks and some foods but plain water is better than any add-on for our body.
Water helps fat loss. The oxygen levels in the bloodstream are greater when the body is well hydrated. The more oxygen the body has readily available the more fat it will burn for energy. Just in everyday breathing we lose about two cups of water. Other ways that we lose our body water is through sweating and urinating. If somehow we fail to refill these losses, we set ourselves up to become dehydrated. If our body detects low water stores it will tell the kidneys to preserve the water instead of excreting it. Dehydration can also lead to constipation and bloating as well. Some other symptoms of dehydration include dry mouth and tongue, apathy and a lack of energy and muscle cramping.
