Following her heartbreaking split from Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, 22, was pictured leaving a dinner date with David Henrie, 25, on Nov. 15. We already know that Selena wanted Justin, 20, to know about her dinner with her former Wizards of Waverly Place co-star, in order to make him jealous, but now we know why she specifically chose David to be her date!
“Selena and David went out together and it was something that Selena set up and planned. She wanted to go out and have a night with someone, who wouldn’t cause any stress or drama. She misses her Wizards family and she wanted to just get some time in with David, who she hasn’t seen in awhile. It was a nice dinner and allowed Selena to feel normal. She can trust David and she needed this time with him. It was not romantic at all,” a source tells HollywoodLife.com.
Selena had so much fun with David! They even recorded themselves singing a Carrie Underwood song and posted it on Instagram.
“They were talking the whole time. They were very comfortable with each other, but no one in the restaurant had any idea who he was. Many people assumed he was her handler. There was no sign of PDA or romantic attractiveness at all. It was almost like a business meeting. But now, knowing that they were cast mates, you could tell they had a mutual appreciation for each other and were having a good time. But this wasn’t a date at all,” source adds.
She Wanted To Make Justin Bieber Jealous. It may not have been a date, but Selena definitely hopes Justin thinks it was.
“Selena could have kept this dinner quiet but she wanted Justin to know about it,” a source told HollywoodLife. “She knows Justin is always jealous when she hangs out with David and she knows it gets to him.”
