Vince Camuto Celebrates London Debut

CAMUTO CARRIES ON: “What’s better than London? It’s the crossroads of Europe. People come here from everywhere. From Asia to the Middle East,” said Vince Camuto at a dinner to mark the launch of his store there last week. Camuto and Kurt Geiger, a division of The Jones Group Inc., which holds the license for the brand in the U.K. market, opened the store on Kensington High Street. It spans 1,776 square feet, and stocks shoes and bags.

The opening marks Camuto’s continued global rollout with its recent openings in Dubai, Germany and Ireland. There are now 60 stores worldwide, and the label will be expanding into Australia later this year.

The designer celebrated the launch with a Hamptons-themed party at the store with rum mojitos, Champagne, macaroons and DJ Bip Ling spinning a set. The party was followed by a private dinner at Galvin at Windows at the London Hilton on Park Lane.
