Christopher Raeburn, Tatty Devine and Alex Monroe have been shortlisted for the 2013 UK Fashion and Textile Association (UKFT) Awards. The ceremony – which will take place on May 23 in London – celebrates outstanding British fashion creativity, as well as commercial awareness and performance.
Raeburn, Monroe and Karl Donoghue are nominated in the Designer Business of the Year category, while Tatty Devine is up against The Cambridge Satchel Company and Mark/Giusti for Accessories Business of the Year.
Other categories include Outstanding Achievement Award, Retailer of the Year, UKFT Rise Newcomer Award and Brand of the Year. The event – in association with Natwest – will feature a fashion show where shortlisted labels will have the chance to show off an edited selection from their collections.
"The judges had an unenviable task as the entries this year were all exceptionally strong and very diverse in what they were bringing to the market and how they had been thriving in difficult times," said UKFT chief executive John Miln. "The entries were inspiring and showed us all that the fashion and textile industry is world class and still leads the way not only creatively but also commercially. We cannot wait to celebrate with all of our shortlisted companies at the Awards some truly remarkable achievements."
