He said in an interview that, ‘There comes a point where you’ve got to move on… You’ve got to say when you’re time is up,". Simon Cowell signed a new five-season agreement with Fox a while back. This contract will keep the sarcastic British judge working on the show for the ninth season at least.
But Simon Cowell was reported saying that it is the year he has decided that it is time to leave American Idol. His 2005 deal with Fox leaves the door open for his return for a tenth Idol edition if he so chooses. Simon Cowell is currently content and satisfied with walking away at the moment. The future of American Idol without Simon Cowell will be thrown into jeopardy if Simon Cowell leaves it.
