Olivia Munn’s Public Toddler Meltdown Is the Most Relatable Parenting Moment You’ll See This Week

Olivia Munn just gave every parent a virtual hug by sharing a brutally honest glimpse into her Easter Monday — and it involved no shoes, a full toddler meltdown, and a mile-long walk through New York.

She posted some photos on Instagram, showing her and her son, Malcolm, out and about. But it didn’t take eagle eyes to spot something was missing: the poor lad had no shoes on, just socks.

“Yes, this is my 3-year-old walking through the streets of New York in only his socks,” Munn wrote, clearly aware of the chaos it might suggest. What followed was a description that most parents would probably nod along to (with flashbacks of their own supermarket disasters), reported the Mail.

“I’m posting this for all the parents who thought it would be great to take advantage of the beautiful weather and took their toddler on a walk only for them to lie down screaming on the floor of Whole Foods, run through the aisles of CVS screaming ‘I don’t like anyone!!’ and knocked over your iced tea before your first sip, all while carrying your 7-month-old strapped to your body.”

It’s the kind of day most parents hope to never relive — but if you know, you know.

Apparently, after all that drama, Malcolm decided he simply wasn’t putting his shoes back on. And after everything else, Munn didn’t have the energy to argue. “This Easter Monday will live in infamy in my memory as the day I tried my absolute best, got us home without another tantrum, and learned that the rubber padding on toddler socks can only take so much,” she added. Honestly? Respect.

Loads of fellow mums, including a few celeb ones, chimed in with their support. Padma Lakshmi commented, “Haha have totally been there! Now wait til adolescence!” and Amanda Kloots added, “Hahahaha love you! All the moms understand this one!”

Other parents shared their own hilarious horror stories, like one who said, “At least he had pants on. My son used to take his pants off any chance he got when he was a toddler.” Another admitted to sitting on the floor of Costco with their “dysregulated” toddler. We’ve all been there.

Yes, some people online threw in the usual judgment, but most parents brushed that off — because the truth is, tantrums are just part of the deal.
