Get well, Gaga. After initially postponing several concert dates, Lady Gaga has been forced to cancel the remainder of her Born This Way Ball Tour, concert promoter Live Nation Global Touring announced on its website on Wednesday Feb. 13. Doctors discovered that Gaga (real name: Stefani Germanotta) suffered a labral tear in her right hip. (The labrum is the muscle which helps hold the hip joint in place.)
"She will need surgery to repair the problem, followed by strict down time to recover," the statement reads. With 21 remaining tour dates on the schedule, fans will be refunded for their tickets.
The "Poker Face" singer initially revealed on Tuesday via Twitter that she’d injured herself during a recent concert. "I hid it from my staff, I didn’t want to disappoint my amazing fans. However after last nights performance I could not walk and still can’t," the Grammy winner explained. She suffers from synovitis, an inflammation of the hips.
The worldwide Born This Way Ball tour grossed over $161 million last year, making it the fifth-highest grossing tour of 2012. – usmagazine
