Kylie Minogue took to the stage at London’s Berkeley hotel Wednesday night for an audience with members of Cosmetic Executive Women (U.K.). The Australian pop star — clad in a sparkling purple vintage Seventies Radley of London gown — chatted about her fragrance Dazzling Darling, the latest in the Darling group of scents she creates with Coty. “I’m not shy of things that dazzle,” said Minogue. “In 1998, when it was really uncool to do sparkly things, I was putting on a tour that wasn’t really having much commercial success…and at one point I said, ‘When in doubt, apply more glitter,’ and that’s something the fans have always reminded me of.”
Minogue also revealed that the newly chestnut brown locks she’s sporting are courtesy of a film role in French director Leos Carax’s latest work, called “Holly Motors.” The singer has a number of other projects “on the boil,” in light of the fact that she’ll celebrate 25 years in the music industry next year. “I just recorded a bunch of my hits as orchestral acoustic versions at Abbey Road [studios], which was very, very exciting,” said Minogue. The tracks are set for release next year, she said. – WWD
