Jon Gosselin announced today on ‘Good Morning America’ that he despises his wife, Kate and then continued to rant against her. Jon and Kate star in the TLC reality series “Jon & Kate Plus 8.”
Jon revealed that Kate refused to go to marriage counseling to try to salvage their marriage. “I have a $22,000 therapy bill,” he said. “I mean, I tried to have marriage counseling. I did it myself. She refused to go.”
The reality TV star told ABC News’ Chris Cuomo on “Good Morning America” that he set down his ring one day and it vanished. He says no one else could have taken it except his estranged wife. He also accused Kate of verbally abusing him and beating him down during their marriage.
This is the first interview given by Jon Gosselin since the filing of divorce papers in June. Jon said that the marriage was under a lot of pressure but it came to a head when he stood up to Kate and told her he was going out to spend time with friends.
“In 10 years, I’ve never gone out. When she said, ‘I don’t want you going out,’ I used to say, ‘OK, I’m not going to go out.’ I was very passive,” he said. “This is the first time I said, ‘You know what? I want to see my friends. I’m going out.’ That was the first time in my life I ever stood up to Kate.”
