The Somalian born super model, Iman 55, was awarded the Fashion Icon award at the Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards, last night (7 june,2010). She is married to music legend David Bowie.
According to Iman in her time their was a communication channel that existed between the designers and the models. She said “ In my day it was, Do you like that? Would you wear it that way?”
“ You could be your own person. And nobody walked the same way on the runway. Don’t get me wrong, there are a great girls today. Buty they have lost that role, or collaborating with the designers. There is not that relationship anymore.”
Besides being fashion model to designers like Calvin Klein and Yves Saint-Laurent, she launched her own signature make-up line in 2007
