RAGS TO RICHIE: On Tuesday, H&M marked the midseason of “Fashion Star” at its Fifth Avenue store, with two of the three judges, John Varvatos and Nicole Richie, in attendance. (Uberpregnant Jessica Simpson presumably couldn’t make the journey out East.)
Richie, wearing a dress from her Winter Kate collection, couldn’t conceal her enthusiasm about the NBC show. “It’s a new concept and we weren’t sure if it was going to work until America actually watches the show, but it seems to be, and these clothes are selling out almost immediately,” Richie said, admitting that she herself was among the shoppers and recently picked up a white dress by contestant Sarah Parrott at H&M. Parrott was there that night, as were many of the other designers from the show.
