THE international shows might have come to an end a little over a month ago but that doesn’t mean the fashion action isn’t still going strong in the capital – Alternative Fashion Week is back.
Running from April 20 to 24 at Spitalfields Traders Market, expect a riot of creativity as over 70 designers – this year from Italy, Croatia, Sweden, Finland and the US – descend upon London’s East End to showcase their menswear and womenswear designs.
Fourteen different designers will show at the event each day with shows kicking off at 1.15pm accompanied by live contemporary jazz from Tex Tile and the Catwalk Combo, plus the Fashion Market will be open from 11am to 5pm.
Celebrating its 15 years of the "alternative" approach to fashion, look out for Kensington & Chelsea College’s alternative black dress, City & Islington College’s skirts inspired by the Victoria & Albert Museum‘s Fashion Vs Sport exhibition, and many, many more.
Admission to Alternative Fashion Week is free. For further information, visit www.alternativearts.ac.uk.
