The 61st Primetime Emmy Awards hit the television and newspapers all around the world. It drew stars and special guests to the Nokia Theatre LA Live to honor nominees and recipients in style. The first 90 minutes of the show were crackling with a little song, a little dance, a little kick in the pants by the host. While some stars managed to steal the show with their grace and style others fell flat with their head scratching dresses.

We at Designerz Central obviously admire good taste. So we shall start with the celebrities who managed to rock the red carpet. Olivia Wilde’s white gown got mixed reactions from the crowd. But we feel the color and the cut was most appropriate. The layered lower half of the gown added volume to the sleek cut. The heavy invisible zipper on the back looking sexy while showing off her curves to the maximum. But the better choice of going around the mesh back would have been a side zipper.

Debra Messing matched the red carpet in a Michael Kor dress.

A pregnant Heidi Klum in Marchesa proudly showed off her bulging tummy and still managed to look stunning.

Samantha Harris walked in an unusual shade of green which looked bright and lively.

Kate Walsh wore a gray J. Mendel dress and Louboutin shoes and looked lovely. Jennifer Love Hewitt walked the carpet looking like a young fresh school girl in lime.

Enough of the sweetness time to move on the sourness of the event. Which was headed by Mindy Kaling in Temperley, she looked like a geometrical figure gone out of hand, and the applic on the dress did not make much sense.

Blake Lively opted for an overly revealing red dress by Versace cut too low in the front and back and side.

Lisa Edelstein’s blue Escada dress was acceptable. It was just the under layer that did not make sense. It looked like an over sizez slip going out of hand. Chloe Sevigny in her vintage vibe in an Isaac Mizrahi one-shoulder polka dot dress looked like someone going to bed in wrapped in a bed sheet!

While red ruled and shades of green were prominent, some stars went the other extreme with white outfits and neutral colors. Vintage gowns and dazzling diamonds were dominant too.
