It looks as though “Desperate Housewives” fans will be seeing a return of one of the shows original characters, when the new season premieres in September. According to Entertainment Weekly, actress Andrea Bowen is set to make her comeback. Andrea Bowen is returning as Julie Mayer in a regular capacity this season. Mike always treated Andrea Bowen like his own daughter while dating her mom, and she’d need to be back to be a bridesmaid in the wedding. Andrea Bowen was in “Desperate Housewives” until the end of season 4 and then apparently Andrea Bowen made a re-appearance briefly in last season. On the show, Bowen was last seen in the November 16 episode, in which Julie Mayer visited her mom (Teri Hatcher), bringing along her much older boyfriend Lloyd (Steven Weber).
In addition to resuming Andrea Bowen duties on "Desperate Housewives," Andrea Bowen is in the midst of recording her first solo album, which will feature original pop-rock songs she has written. Besides “Desperate Housewives,” Andrea Bowen has appeared on the CBS series, “Ghost Whisperer,” the TNT original drama, “The Closer” and the CBS crime drama, “Without a Trace.”
