CLASSIC American label Gap will finally be available online in the UK this summer; through the portals of mega-boutique ASOS.COM, it was revealed today.

CLASSIC American label Gap will finally be available online in the UK this summer; through the portals of mega-boutique ASOS.COM, it was revealed today. Rumours of a link up started earlier this year but both parties were reluctant to confirm the collaboration until all aspects were agreed.

"Choice is key to the ASOS.COM proposition and we are delighted to welcome Gap on board to further enhance the strength of our branded offering," Nick Robertson, chief executive of the online retailer revealed.

"This is a natural extension for the Gap brand in the UK, which builds upon the growth of our online division in the US and the strong customer response to Gap brand product in Europe recently," said Stephen Sunnucks, president of Europe & international strategic alliances, for Gap Inc.

The capsule Gap offering, which will include women’s, men’s, kids’ and babies’ clothing and accessories, will be available from ASOS.COM from August 2009. The addition of Gap, amongst others this year, takes the total number of brands offered by ASOS.COM to more than 800.
