In keeping with its campaigns that celebrate men of accomplishment — albeit this one deceased — Alfred Dunhill hosted a summer party in support of the Philip Johnson Glass House in New Canaan, Conn. on Saturday. The afternoon picnic at the bucolic 49-acre estate of the late architect was also supported by Swarovski and drew interior designer Bill Sofield, design maven Murray Moss, Town & Country’s Jay Fielden, photographer Todd Eberle and artist E.V. Day, who has installed a site-specific artwork on the grounds. Dunhill plans to make the event an annual benefit for the Modernist masterpiece, completed in 1949 and now a National Trust Historic Site. “The Glass House is a true icon,” said Eric Jones, president of Alfred Dunhill North America, “and how can one argue with the elegance of a beautiful summer picnic in the Connecticut countryside?”
